Who We Are

Shir Chadash’s mission is to challenge, enrich, and delight its singing members and audiences through the excellence of its performances.

Specifically, the Chorus aims to:

§         Challenge the ear and mind with innovative programming that embraces Jewish music of many traditions, periods and styles

§         Bring new Jewish music to the stage

§         Enrich its members by enhancing their knowledge and practice of music

§         Serve Jewish choral music and to fulfill all who listen to and love music through the distinctive beauty and power of its performances

§         Empower our audience to join us in song

§         Support local synagogues and institutions of Jewish learning through fundraising concerts.

The chorus meets for rehearsals September through June on Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30 pm at the Park Slope Jewish Center on the corner of 8th Avenue and 14th Street in Brooklyn, NY.

Shir Chadash is a true community chorus – diverse and unaffiliated with any denomination. New members are welcome in the fall and winter, and should contact Tori Rosen, BJCC president to confirm dates and times at ShirChadashBJCC@gmail.com.
